Mother Nature comes through in the clutch today with nearly ideal pre-Thanksgiving weather not just here in the D.C. area, but for the vast majority of the country with the exception of the stormy Pacific Northwest. Locally, the story is much the same for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. No storm threats this weekend, but it does turn breezy and much colder.

The reminders were everywhere. The newspapers, shaken and crinkled in jest by Terrapins fans during pregame introductions, proclaimed the University of Maryland's move to the Big Ten official. When university President Wallace D. Loh entered Comcast Center midway through the second half Tuesday night, chants began of "Big Ten, Big Ten." And during a promotional advertisement for the Atlantic Coast Conference on the overhead video board, one student waved goodbye.

Born in Japan, but raised primarily in Texas, where he starred in both football and track at Copperas Cove High School and Baylor University, Griffin sees this game as a true homecoming. He'll play in front of a large number of family and friends, at the stadium and on televisions in homes across the state.

Hundreds are vying for a chance to attend Md. casino's dealer school

Live table games won't begin at Maryland Live casino for another five months, but more than 2,000 people are already trying to get in on the action — as craps and card dealers.

The casino at Arundel Mills mall plans to hire at least 800 dealers to work about 150 tabletop games that are expected to be introduced in mid-April.
