The Redskins' locker room is a unified one, except when it come to the music being played before and after practice. The far end of the room, where the offensive line is situated, tends to favor country and rock, while hip hop and rap are the usual choices blaring from the corner where the defensive backs hang out. Sometimes you'll hear both simultaneously, with a bit of a volume battle going on.

How he beats you: Cruz boasts impressive speed and runs precise routes. The combination is a big reason why he leads the Giants with 63 catches for 779 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Redskins can attest to the difficulty of containing Cruz. They held him in check for much of the first game this season, limiting him to 54 yards on six catches until, with 90 seconds remaining,Cruz and Eli Manning connected for a 77-yard game-winning touchdown.

Playoffs, bye weeks and penalties: Everything you need to know
Nov 28th 2012, 16:46

There's a lot to address this week. Here is a statistical take on some of the big topics heading into the season's home stretch.

Playoff Chances

Much of the talk around town centers on the Redskins' chances of making the playoffs. Everything seemed to go Washington's way last week. Not only did the Redskins beat the Cowboys, but the rest of their competitors lost—Detroit, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Seattle, Green Bay and Minnesota. It's hard to imagine a better combination of outcomes. Overall, the Redskins went from about a 5% chance of making the playoffs following their loss to the Panthers three weeks ago to 29% today. They'll likely need to go 9-7 to get in, although some plausible scenarios could qualify them at 8-8. Winning out would guarantee a berth.
