By the end of a new exhibition at the Walters Art Museum, the viewer is put in a position similar to that of an old-fashioned racist of a century ago: scrutinizing faces and hair for signs of "blackness," as if the truth of every portrait is lurking in the complexion of its subject, as if all that matters is whether hair kinks or curls, and whether full lips and flat noses are just variations from the European mean, or telltale signs of African heritage. Discovery to air 'Flipping the White House' special — has the network decided the outcome of the election?

The Silver Spring-based network announced Wednesday that it will premiere a documentary Sunday called "Flipping the White House," in which former staffers discuss what it's like to transform the White House when one president leaves and another moves in.

Oprah Winfrey developing a drama series at HBO

Oprah Winfrey is developing a drama series for HBO about a wealthy academic who becomes the first black president . . . of a prestigious liberal arts college.

The guy and his family are thrust into national headlines, forcing them to present an idyllic public façade, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the series in development — as part of a long-term deal Oprah/Harpo signed back in 2008, to develop series, docus, TV movies and miniseries for HBO.

CW joins on-demand world, will make shows available on Comcast

CW has joined the on-demand game — starting Thursday, viewers will be able to watch the CW's primetime slate on Comcast's Xfinity On Demand service, the network announced.

It's the first time CW has made its shows available through a provider's Video On Demand service. And now, shows like "Gossip Girl" and "Vampire Diaries" will be availble for Comcast customers the day after they air, and also include the four most-recent episodes.
