We all know what happens if the entire fiscal cliff takes effect for all of 2013: Some $720 billion gets taken out of the economy, growth craters and the United States runs a major risk of falling sharply into another recession. But what happens if we go over the fiscal cliff briefly namely, if Democrats make good on their threat to go past Dec. 31 if Republicans dont agree to compromise on the Bush tax cuts?

iPad sales slow as tablet wars heat up

The tablet wars just got more interesting.

Apple tapped the brakes on its seemingly unstoppable rise, saying Thursday that it sold fewer iPads in the fourth quarter than analysts had expected. It also warned that sales and profit in the next quarter would be more modest than in the past because of rising costs.
