• An unsuspecting wedding party in Connecticut encountered some VIP crashers this weekend — Bill and Hillary Clinton, who happened to be celebrating her 65th birthday at the same resort, the Mayflower Inn in the town of Washington. The ex-POTUS naturally made a point of greeting the bride, groom and all their guests, and the Clintons were seen lingering late in the lobby, listening to a jazz combo and playing cards. Chelsea and Marc Mezvinsky also joined for part of the weekend.

Hurricane Sandy had already spooked us. So on Saturday night, we were well on our way to Creepsville even before the titular vampire took his first steps in the Washington Ballet's production of the Gothic ghost story.
