The school announced Thursday that former North Carolina State Coach Tom O'Brien has been named Virginia's new associate head coach for offense and tight ends coach. O'Brien, an assistant under former Virginia Coach George Welsh from 1982-1996, hired London as a defensive line coach at Boston College in 1997 and the two worked together for four seasons. D.C. United is finalizing paperwork to acquire 20-year-old forward Rafael on a one-year loan from Brazilian club EC Bahia, which on Thursday announced an agreement had been reached. United officials did not want to comment, but sources familiar with the talks said the deal is in the late stages and should be completed by next week.
