D.C. area forecast: Chilly inauguration weather, late flurries, then bitter cold midweek

The Arctic invasion began last night, but the chill in the air on this Inauguration Day is nothing compared to what's coming. A second, more bitter blast of cold air arrives tonight that holds temperatures below freezing until late in the work week. This is the coldest air in more than two years. The cold air may partially retreat Friday just in time for the next storm system.

Rockville man killed in skiing accident

A 40-year-old Rockville man was killed in a weekend skiing accident in western Maryland, authorities said.

James Jungjin Park ran into trees while skiing Saturday at the Wisp resort in Garrett County, the Associated Press reported, quoting the county sheriff's office.
