DENVER — Ten months after trading him to the Washington Wizards, the Denver Nuggets honored Nene for his contributions in nearly 10 years with the organization with a one-minute video montage. As fans at Pepsi Center stood to applaud him in pregame introductions, Nene pointed toward the ceiling and clapped right back, restraining his emotions as much as he could.

Redskins receiver Josh Morgan has surgery on right leg

Washington Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan had surgery on his lower right leg on Friday.

The fifth-year veteran this past season played in all 16 games a year after missing all but five contests after breaking his right leg and tearing ligaments near his lower leg/ankle area.

Lance Armstrong to children: "Don't defend me anymore"

D.C. United looking to part ways with Hamdi Salihi

Hamdi Salihi's departure from D.C. United has been in the works for some time, but until a contract resolution is reached, the well-paid Albanian striker will be tethered to the club.

Salihi was not present for fitness tests at George Mason University's field house on Friday morning — the first formal gathering of United's players this preseason and, by extension, the first acknowledgment that he would not return this year.
