IN LATE 2010, while sitting with members of Team "Peanuts," I was saddened to learn that Chris Shea — the child actor who originally voiced Linus Van Pelt — had died earlier that year, at age 52.

Now comes the distressing news that Peter Robbins, who voiced Charlie Brown in those first, now-immortal "Peanuts" TV specials, has been arrested in Southern California on charges of threatening violence, according to the U-T San Diego.

GLAAD takes NatGeo to task for Boy Scouts reality show

GLAAD is blasting National Geographic Channel for declining to add a disclaimer to a new reality series about the Boy Scouts of America — a group that does not permit openly gay members.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation threw its support Wednesday behind a petition — started by a 20-year-old gay Eagle Scout — to get NatGeo to slap a disclaimer onto the start of each "Are You Tougher Than a Boy Scout?" episode.

Fox pulls 'Ben and Kate' from the schedule, on heels of ABC's 'Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23'

Bad day for TV comedy.

Fox on Wednesday pulled the freshman sibling comedy "Ben and Kate," which had been the weakest player, ratings-wise, in its two-hour Tuesday comedy block. "B&K" was averaging about 3.1 million viewers (factoring in DVR viewing).

Kennedy Center will begin search to replace President Michael M. Kaiser

The Kennedy Center announced Wednesday that it is forming a search committee for a new president to succeed Michael M. Kaiser after his contract ends in December 2014. Kaiser has been the president of the Kennedy Center since January 2001. He will remain the president of the Kennedy Center's DeVos Institute of Arts Management, which he founded to train arts managers across the United States, through 2017.
