Schefter says Redskins best positioned in the NFC East
Nov 1st 2012, 20:23

The crazy, zig-zag, absurd nature of the modern NFL — combined with Washington's upcoming bye week — has created an interesting dynamic to Sunday's Skins-Panthers game. Win, and people will spend two weeks wondering whether 4-5 Washington can mount a late-season playoff push. Lose, and people will spend two weeks wondering whether 3-6 Washington needs to win a certain number of games to save Mike Shanahan's job.

Is Norv Turner coaching to keep his job against Chiefs?
Nov 1st 2012, 19:54

There are few places in the NFL with a warmer coaching seat than that beneath San Diego Chargers Coach Norv Turner.

Five questions with Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Charles Kelly
Nov 1st 2012, 19:01

Three weeks ago, Charles Kelly became Georgia Tech's interim defensive coordinator after Al Groh was fired. Since then, the Yellow Jackets stifled Boston College in a 37-17 win, then got blown out by 24 points against BYU. Now Kelly's unit faces a different challenge: a Maryland offense ranked 115th nationally, starting its fifth quarterback this season in Shawn Petty, a converted linebacker. I spoke with Kelly about facing a quarterback with no film, the Terps wide receivers and what Georgia Tech needs to improve upon.

Panthers defensive player to watch: Dwan Edwards, defensive tackle
Nov 1st 2012, 18:56

How he beats you… Edwards has 4-1/2 sacks in seven games this season, an unusually high total for an interior defensive lineman. Nov 1st 2012, 17:21

I have offered many reasons why the Redskins' defense has struggled. I've suggested there is not enough pride, preparation and even passion about becoming a better unit.
