Update on Red Bull Arena, MLS playoffs Oct 30th 2012, 19:01 Red Bull Arena is without electricity but did not suffer any severe damage when Hurricane Sandy roared through the New York area Tuesday, according to D.C. United President Kevin Payne. Payne spoke this afternoon with Red Bulls General Manager Jerome de Bontin, who told him the facility in Harrison, N.J., is in good condition. They agreed to speak again as the week unfolds to determine whether the stadium would still host the first leg of the Eastern Conference semifinal series Saturday night between the Red Bulls and United. Sermanni, 58, has some experience with American players, having worked in the first defunct pro league, Women's United Soccer Association, as an assistant in San Jose and head coach in New York in 2003. Read full article >>  | Amar'e Stoudemire may be out 6-8 weeks, report says Oct 30th 2012, 16:39 New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire is expected to miss at least six weeks and possibly eight after hurting the knee on which he had microfracture surgery. Stoudemire had ruptured a cyst behind the knee in an exhibition game against the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 19, but the Knicks expected to have him back within two-to-three weeks. However, ESPN's Chris Broussard, citing unnamed sources, reported that Stoudemire sought a second opinion from Dr. Thomas Carter, the Phoenix Suns' team doctor. Carter did microfracture surgery on Stoudemire's knee in 2005.
