Jennifer Rubin: McConnell and Biden to the rescue; the grandstanders holler
Jan 1st 2013, 15:41

By a vote of 89 to 8 to approve a fiscal deal, the Senate demonstrated that President Obama surely is the most incompetent if not counterproductive deal-maker in an era that requires a good one. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Vice President Biden found the middle ground, with McConnell sneaking in a few gems. In the future, why bother asking Obama about his views? Jennifer Rubin: 'Fiscal-cliff' resolution
Dec 31st 2012, 21:47

It appears that Republicans and Democrats, under the auspices of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Vice President Biden, have reached a deal on the tax aspects of the "fiscal cliff" centered on tax rates rising for individuals making $400,000 and couples making $450,000. We now know these two are the only capable deal-makers in Washington. Time can be saved and much annoyance avoided in the future by bypassing the White House altogether.
