U.S. Coast Guard says Arthur Kill leak contained

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. Coast Guard said super storm Sandy damaged four diesel storage tanks at Motiva Enterprise's terminal at Seawaren, New Jersey, and two of them leaked fuel into the Arthur Kill waterway, which separates Staten Island from New Jersey. The Coast Guard said the fuel leak was contained in the area around the storage tanks and no sheen was reported in the navigable channel or on the New York side of the channel this morning. Sandy on track to be second-largest flood loss ever

(Reuters) - The superstorm Sandy will likely end up as the second-largest insured flood loss in U.S. history, behind only Hurricane Katrina, a top executive of a leading flood insurance provider said on Thursday. Patty Templeton-Jones, the chief operating officer of Wright Flood, said the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency is expecting claims on at least 80,000 flood insurance policies after Sandy. The courts completed 324,000 proceedings in the 2006 fiscal year but only 287,000 in the 2010 fiscal year, a report from Inspector General Michael Horowitz said.
