Oxon Hill man burned in space heater fire dies at hospital

An Oxon Hill man died after being burned in a fire that ignited when he tried to pour kerosene into a lighted space heater in his living room early Sunday, fire officials said.

The 50-year-old man, whose name was being withheld until his family could be notified, suffered burns to 70 to 80 percent of his body, according to Prince George's County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor. He was taken to the Medstar Washington Hospital Burn Center, where he died later Sunday.

Four men stabbed in D.C.

Four men were stabbed and another assaulted after a large fight broke out early Sunday in Northwest Washington.

Emergency officials transported one of the victims — a 26-year-old man with a wound to the chest — to George Washington University Hospital, said Lon Walls, communications director of the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.
