U.S. Democrats are embracing the term “liberal.” Too bad many Americans still don’t quite get what it means.

According to a new Pew poll, more Democratic voters are identifying with the label "liberal," marking a discernible upward trend. "In 2015, more Democratic voters identified as liberals (42%) than as moderates (38%) or conservatives (17%)," reported the Pew Research Center. White Democrats, millennials, and those with postgraduate degrees in particular characterized their political views as "liberal." […]
