Nene will make his home debut on Saturday against the Charlotte Bobcats as the Wizards attempt to snap a season-opening 10-game losing streak and avenge their most lopsided loss of the season.

Making his first appearance of the season on Wednesday in Atlanta, Nene scored 12 points during the Wizards' heartbreaking 101-100 loss to the Hawks. Coach Randy Wittman said he would continue to keep the 6-foot-11 Brazilian big man limited to no more than 20 minutes.

Georgetown basketball vs. Mount St. Mary's: Hoyas pull away from Mountaineers
Nov 24th 2012, 21:09

It was a somnambulant, sloppy bunch that came out wearing Georgetown jerseys Saturday at Verizon Center. And for 20 minutes, a pressing, opportunistic Mount St. Mary's team made the Hoyas look pedestrian, raining three-pointers over their lanky frames at one end of the court and forcing turnovers at the other.

BLACKSBURG, Va. — It was by no means pretty, but Virginia Tech's worst season in 20 years will end with a bowl game.

After watching its offense struggle mightily for long stretches Saturday, the Hokies' defense delivered a turnover in the nick of time, paving the way for Virginia Tech to secure a 17-14 victory over Virginia on a blustery day in Blacksburg. The win makes the Hokies bowl eligible for the 20th straight season, the third-longest streak in the nation.

Robert Griffin III draws praise from LeBron James
Nov 24th 2012, 17:01

Dallas Cowboys fans watched on Thursday with a mix of agony and admiration as Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III led his team to an upset victory at Cowboys Stadium in the first nationally-televised game of his career.

One of the more famous Cowboys fans, Miami Heat forward LeBron James, couldn't help but express his respect for Griffin, who threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns. After the game, James tweeted: "RGIII is a MONSTER!!"

My colleague Michael Lee was down in Miami on Friday, and was part of a media scrum in which James was asked about Griffin's play against Dallas.

"I tweeted he's a monster yesterday. I hated it had to be against the Cowboys, but I give props where props is due. He's an animal," James said. "He's the first rookie to ever win in Cowboys Stadium on Turkey Day, but the passeshe was making, honestly the unbelievable pass to Santana Moss on the roll-out on the back shoulder, and over the middle to Pierre Garcon. He was making some unbelievable plays. He's an unbelievable talent.

Asked if Griffin had converted to the Redskins, James said, "No," and walked away.
